AlfredDrake
Ornate calligraphic script with gothic scribe-style swashes
AlfredDrake is a bold calligraphic script built around thick, brush-like strokes and looping swashes that give it a medieval scribe feel - somewhere between illuminated manuscript lettering and a fantasy-novel title font. The letterforms are irregular by design, with curling tails on the G, J, and Y and an ampersand that's almost its own piece of art.
Because the strokes are so heavy and expressive, AlfredDrake works best set large - as a title, a monogram, or a short phrase rather than a paragraph of body text. The uneven, hand-drawn quality gives every word a one-of-a-kind feel, which suits anything trying to look historic, magical, or hand-crafted rather than mass-produced.
Good uses for AlfredDrake:
- Fantasy or medieval-themed game and book titles
- Wedding invitations and formal announcements
- Wax-seal-style logos and monograms
- Tattoo lettering and ornate signage
Download AlfredDrake for free and pair it with a plain serif or sans for any supporting text, since its heavy swashes are best reserved for short, large-scale use.
