Jagged, hand-carved blackletter caps with a medieval edge

AlbertText Bold is a free display font that takes the bones of a classic blackletter and roughs them up. The heavy vertical strokes and angular joints of traditional gothic lettering are still there, but the cuts are more jagged and asymmetric than a formal blackletter, giving it a hand-carved, weathered feel rather than a strict calligraphic one.

That rougher edge makes it a strong fit for fantasy game logos and book covers, medieval and renaissance-fair branding, tattoo lettering, and metal or hard-rock band logos that want a gothic look without feeling too ornate or old-fashioned.

It reads best in short bursts - titles, logos, single words - where the texture of each letter has room to show; for longer passages, pair it with a plain serif or sans for readability.
